Adding Milk To Tea May Not Be A Good Idea?

.

I love drinking milk tea. I usually make a tea latte in Starbucks or I have Lipton Milk Tea at home when I’m not in the mood for coffee.

But recently, I discovered an article that says adding milk to tea may not be a good idea because it eliminates the health benefits of tea.

A research in Charite Hospital at the University of Berlin in Mitte found out that while tea improves blood flow, adding milk to it takes away the protective effect it gives against cardiovascular disease.

The reason is that milk has proteins called caseins that affects and decreases the catechins compound in tea. This compound greatly contributes to the body’s protection against heart ailments.

Now that’s something all of us, milk tea lovers, should think about.
