Nightcap with the GenSan bloggers at Cafe Amoree… I was hesitant at first but I knew I have to order it – else I should give up being the Thirsty Blogger.
Yes, I’m talking about the Durian Frappe. I’m not a fan of the fruit (even the pastillas), and having it as an iced blended coffee drink gave me doubts if I’ll be able to savor this one.
But I did… and was glad that it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would – actually it was good.
At first sip, you’ll immediately get a rush of the durian flavor on your palate. If you like durian, you’ll truly savor that moment. If not, then just wait a while and the taste will turn into a creamy coffee frappe.
That familiar tasting finish to the drink was something I did enjoy, specially if you’re having all these cakes.
Eleven different cakes and pastries for nine people. You know there’s a sugar crash coming after.
And my favorite among them – the Tiramisu which went along really well with the Durian frappe because it made the creamy coffee flavor linger more in my mouth.
Thanks to Cafe Amoree, for making me try my very first Durian-based drink. I won’t say I’ll miss it, but I’d definitely have more of that Tiramisu if I find myself back in General Santos.
Cafe Amoree is located at Dacera Commercial Complex along Mabuhay Road in General Santos City, South Cotabato.
