Starbucks has three new beverages, together, they are called the Dark Roast Coffee Jelly drinks. And last night, I tried the Caramel Dark Roast Coffee Jelly Frappuccino.
“Coffee in the jelly. Jelly in the coffee.” That’s what their poster said. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can also try the other two coffee jelly variants which are the Vanilla Dark Roast Coffee Jelly Caffe Latte and the Dark Roast Coffee Jelly Frappuccino Blended Coffee.
The Starbucks Dark Roast coffee bean was used to give the coffee jelly its flavor. I used a special straw with a scooper to try the coffee jelly alone. Its taste is subtle and similar to that of espresso coffee.
Overall, the Caramel Dark Roast Coffee Jelly Frappuccino is okay and is very similar to their Caramel Frappuccino with just a scoop of coffee jelly added. I’m guessing that the other variants are the same.
Anyway, if you’re wondering what’s the score of these drinks in the calorie meter. Here are the approximate measurements according to the Starbucks barista I talked to (with whipped cream):
- Tall – 300 calories, 100 from fat
- Grande – 380 calories, 130 from fat
- Venti – 500 calories, 150 from fat
i just wish that Starbucks here in MY have the same taste of Coffee Jelly that we have in the Philippines. sigh.. 🙁

I haven’t tasted any Starbucks beverage for a year haha ill try this one, it looks yummy.
I cannot say that I have ever tried the jelly starbucks drinks. It does seem like an awful lot of calories of fat for just one drink. I like to say that I am pretty adventurous with trying new things, so maybe I will give it a try.
