He-Brews Bookstore and Cafe in Baguio City

.

I just came from Baguio last week. It was just a quick overnight road trip with some friends. Nevertheless, I could say we really saw a lot of the city during our short stay.

One of the interesting places, which I was able to visit was He-Brews Bookstore and Cafe. The place was not part of our itinerary, but the name of the place was too interesting to ignore.

The place looks more like a library than a restaurant or coffee shop. Books for religious and spiritual reading are everywhere. There’s also some religious items for sale inside.

He-Brews is located at Porta Vaga Roofdeck in Baguio City. If you don’t know where that is, then just head on over to the Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral, or better known as the Baguio Cathedral and you’ll see it inside the compound – and thus explains the name and the concept of the place.

Too bad I wasn’t able to try any of their drinks, nor their food, which I noticed had reasonable prices. A friend who’s also been there before said that their coffee is good, and their food servings are more than adequate for a normal appetite.

He-Brews is actually a social enterprise that is co-owned with the Diocese of Baguio-Benguet. The cafe ambiance is peaceful and a great place to do some quiet reading.

I’m definitely taking note of this place, and make sure I visit them again the next time I’m in Baguio.

How about you? Have you been at He-Brews Bookstore and Cafe? What can you say about the place?
