Ill effects or symptoms of lactose intolerance: gas, bloating and cramping.

How to determine your level of lactose intolerance:

  1. Don’t eat any dairy products for a couple of days.
  2. Drink milk in small doses until you experience symptoms.

How to avoid minimize discomfort from lactose intolerance:

  • Don’t take your dairy alone. Have a cracker or biscuit with the milk, fruits with the ice cream.
  • Have chocolate or cocoa powder with your milk – drink chocolate milk.

Good alternative sources of calcium so you don’t have to worry about lactose intolerance: sardines, hard cheese, soy milk and yogurt.
