As requested by some readers, I’m giving you something intoxicating today. So let me present to you, the R18 Vodka Knockers by Destileria Limtuaco.
I was lucky enough to get a free taste of this RTD (Ready-To-Drink) tropical quencher during an event in Bonifacio High Street. At the mini-bar, I had two choices – the guyabano or the calamansi. I got the latter.
I interviewed the bartender when he had some free time and he said that Destileria Limtuaco really wanted to only use Philippine tropical fruits as the main flavors for R18 – thus explains why guyabano and calamansi.
He further said R18 is made from real fruit juices and is only 5% alcohol, which means it is possible to get some health benefits from it.
It has been said that Guyabano has anti- cancer properties and Calamansi is rich in Vitamin C that helps boost the immune system.
Hmmm… really now?
Well, in any case, I did enjoy drinking my R18 Calamansi Vodka Knocker. It’s something I would recommend as an alternative to drinking The Bar.
Cheers!
By the way, search “vodka knockers” in Urban Dictionary. It will explain why the drink is indeed R18! 😛
