I very rarely buy the ready to drink beverages in Starbucks but in the spirit of this blog, I convinced myself to buy their Vanilla Silk Soy Milk.
This beverage is actually a product of Dean Foods, a cow’s milk distributor in the United States. It’s brand, Silk, is a combination of the words soya and milk.
Silk tastes quite good actually, if you already have an acquired taste for soy milk. I can also say that this one is creamy and smooth to the palate.
Silk Soymilk boasts itself to be free from lactose, dairy, cholesterol, gluten, eggs, peanuts, casein and MSG. (Well, that’s according to the label). The 244 mL serving will give you 100 calories, 30 of which comes as fat.
Lastly, a serving of this drink would give you 30% of your daily recommended Calcium intake (based on a 2,000 calorie diet).
