It’s been a while since I wrote a health article here, so I decided to write one today… for your benefit and likewise, to help a friend.
In today’s society, a lot of people would go for sports drinks, iced tea, fruit shakes or even soda when they feel thirsty. But ask any doctor and they’ll say that the best thirst quencher is still plain water.
Why is water the best choice? Simply because it’s calorie-free, inexpensive and available almost everywhere. Plus, you get a lot of other benefits.
And it’s also important to remember that drinks containing sugar or caffeine or alcohol may cause your thirst to worsen “inside” – you may feel refreshed, but your body is not any better.
If you’re not a fan of drinking plain water, then maybe you can add a slice of lemon to add zest to your water, specially when you’re eating.
Lemon water has been found to aid digestion and it’s a diuretic, so it helps your kidney flush out all the toxins and bacteria inside your body.
And speaking of kidneys, I’d like to end this post by inviting everyone to visit Kidney Therapy. It’s an information website made by a friend. He hopes that this site will, in the near future, grow and generate income to help in his father’s kidney dialysis treatment expenses.
It’s a worthy endeavor, so that’s why I’m blogging about it here… and with that, I’d like to thank you for reading. Until the next time. 😀
